Ferry terminals for Thessaloniki’s waterfront public transportation (2nd Prize Competition Entry)

4 terminals – 2 surfaces – 1 system:
A design proposal for 4 ferry terminals located on different points on the city’s waterfront. A family of designs based on an archetype and variation according to an organizational diagram. A system with two surfaces whose topography changes by various parameters. The 2 surfaces fold and kiss, defining the program as a continuous transition from the inside out (vertical disconnection) and separating the platform de novo into urban service and urban leisure (horizontal disconnection).

Parameters:
- optimal inclination and orientation of the surface bearing the photo-voltaic panels
- mirroring of the 2 boarding squares
- coverage of uses program
- twist of the surfaces from horizontality to verticality
- filtering and framing of the view via the shell articulation
